As an educator, public health professional, community activist, and civic engagement leader, Shaquera Robinson is proud to be a Community Engagement Specialist with Massachusetts Community Engagement Alliance (MA-CEAL). Shaquera envisions her contributions to the collective-responsibility by amplifying the works between community-based organization partners, medical faculty and staff, alongside stakeholders across the continuum to increase overall positive health outcomes.
Participating in the BUILD UP TRUST CHALLENGE provides tangible action and efforts, with the wrap-around support we rely upon from community leaders. When it comes to health care and equitable access, we need all hands on deck. Collective responses to public health crises and disparities provide a whole-person approach that enhances one's self-efficacy in the decision-making processes regarding health behaviors. Accountability and sustainability go hand-in-hand, one cannot begin to change the stigmas that plague underserved communities without intentional and effective strategies and initiatives that are inclusive to the needs of those it serves. BUILD UP is designed to break the silos that are systematically embedded across all sectors of the SDOH, and I would be humbled and honored to take even a small part in this life-altering and innovative public health initiative.
