Dr. Troxel is a Senior Behavioral Scientist at the RAND Corporation and Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and University of Utah. Dr. Troxel’s work focuses on the intersection between sleep and social environments, with implications for public policy. She is PI or MPI of several NIH-funded projects focused on the role of sleep in contributing to health disparities and the development of behavioral sleep interventions for underserved populations. Her work has been published in top-tier medical and psychiatric journals and has also received widespread media attention, including a TEDx talk with over 2.4 million views. She has served in leadership roles in several professional sleep societies and is an Associate Editor for the journals Sleep Health and Psychosomatic Medicine, and served on the NIH Sleep Disorders Research Advisory Board.
